7/18/2008 -- There were two reports of hacking attempts on Arctic today. While they have been relatively benign (no data lost, just a "hacked by" banner in the site title), this is a serious situation. We have identified the problem and adapted the code to eliminate this problem.
Existing users should log in to their Customer account and either download the new release, v2.0.1, or download the patch and apply it.
Please DO report any activities, successful or not, that may be attempts to compromise the integrity of the Arctic application.
Created for designers and developers, but useful in many applications, Arctic allows you to keep track of any kind of task ranging from bug reports to support requests. Once added, each item is tracked through to completion with useful report displays to show progress.
Key features include: a simple interface, advanced sorting and filtering, group based project permissions, custom fields, e-mail notifications and language support.
Arctic is written in PHP, will run on almost any platform and has both FREE and PAID licenses:
- The free license is restricted to one project and one thousand issues, is fully encoded (no modification possible), includes program updates, and includes only nominal support.
- The paid license has no limitations related to the number of projects or issues, provides full source code except five core files (which are encoded to enforce licensing), and includes one year of updates and support.
For an additional fee, you may optionally have an Arctic staff member install the software on your server and/or remove the credit link at the bottom of Arctic pages (but copyright notices within the code itself, which are not seen by users, must remain intact).
A hosted version is also available if you do not wish to manage the hosting and general maintenance yourself.
